Watched it with the wife last Saturday and thought it was amazing. Story was engagingly simple and predictable but good fun nonetheless. IMAX had been booked up until Jan 17th so had to settle for regular ol' 3d. I would like to see it again in IMAX. This movie is visually spectacular that must be experienced in a theater.

There is supposed to be at least a 2nd installment that might dig deeper into the whole story suggested by an original, more in-depth script. Read more about it at CHUD if you've seen the movie ... or it will spoil everything:

Btw, if you're experiencing post-Avatar 'blues', you're not alone:

I really hope Steve Ritchie gets an apologetic call from Gary Stern to resurrect his pinball design. He chimes in on this RGP thread: So why did Stern scrub Avatar?: http://groups.google.com/group.....af0/a49d9addbf4df7ab.

Went to the Colisuem in Mississauga to see it in IMAX 3D ... visually stunning ... decent story although as previosuly mentioned very predictable ... surprised that the length of the movie didn't bother me actually didn't check my watch until well over 2 hours in.

The story wasn't a mind-bender but it was very entertaining and visually stunning. This is the first time I have ever wanted to see a film in a theater more than once; the experience was that good. I haven't heard too many bad things about it. If you need more reassurance, go to http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/avatar/ and read some of the critic's reviews.
