The impressions (page views) generates very little revenue, it's when users actually click on the ads and go to the advertisers page that Google pays.  The forum software being used has something to do with the oddness of the relevance of the ads, but Google hardly ever gets it right because (especially right now) there are relatively few paying advertisers so you see a lot of unrelated dreck.

On the other hand, MAACA posts are very often in the top ten of Google results for pinball related searches, so the site ranks very highly on Google.
