The juxtaposition of a crap pop song, where one of the lines is that (paraphrased) "jesus taught me a i could still rock and roll"  Ironic that  he is playing a walking carribean line for bass, mostly used in Reggae music, a style that is all about feel, and it is being superimposed over a straight ahead 4/4 pop arrangement.

I find his callbacks (vocal hits during the chorus) to be hilarious.

I think that stuff is stuff only you as a musician would pick up on,
