I'm hoping to contribute to CPR by doing a backglass.    I don't wanna reveal the backglass title until I'm committed to the project.

The hardest part seems to be finding a graphics company in Ottawa that does large format scanning.    I found one place "Gilmour Productions", but their scanner must roll the glass through.   The maximum thickness can be 1/4".

It seems a bit scary to roll painted-glass through the scanner.  They mentioned noone in Ottawa has a Cruise (flatbed) scanner.

Any ideas of where in Ottawa (or Montreal) to find a good graphics shop with a large-format flat bed scanner.   Or a large-format photo-table?

It's tricky for sure.. you might be better off trying to get one of those old hand-held scanners and piecing it together in Photoshop

I called the Akran place and got a quick quote of $150.

Seems pricey.   Maybe a bad time to call on Friday afternoon.

Great - good to know.   Yeah, I guess the price seems fair.  The roller-scanner quoted $5 a sq-foot - so roughly $40.   The guy wasn't too interested was more the comment.   Its definitely worth a shot.

There is a discussion from today about reproduction on backglasses or translites.

Someone offered a service to create repros if you send him a picture. He will NOT do any further work on the picture, hence any correction or color corrections must be done before. The price for a reproduction is 30 Euro. the quality of the pictures should be 200dpi. The material he wants to do it is opal or transparent slide material.

Looks that he has the possibility to do it on a DURST LAMBDA®™ — The Large-Format Photo Laser Imager
http://www.durst.it/en/durst-phototechnik-ag/home/products-photo/lambda-hs.html

Maybe you can find someone with a machine located somewhere here in Canada.
