You should definitely replace the power cord. Not sure about T2 but the WPC games at my place use a standard modular cord like on most computer equipment.
Playable Now: Centaur II, Doctor Who, High Speed. Playable Soon: Breakshot, Sorcerer Later: Flash, Genie, Seawitch Fondly remembered: Firepower
My T2 is missing the grounding prong, should I worry? It was imported from Alabama, so doesn't have an isolation transformer.
Yes, you should replace the plug at minimum with one that has a ground prong (or replace the complete cord as a few like to do), for your safety, as well as for properly grounding of the electronics.
I believe a grounding note/warning might be in the game manual.
Cheers, - Sylvain.
Looking for 1966 Bally Capersville, 1967 Bally The Wiggler, 1981 Stern Viper, 1986 Pinstar Gamatron, 1986 Williams Grand Lizard, 1991 Williams Bride of Pinbot, and a few others. Cash or some trades available. Could also repair a machine of yours +/-$ if needed, in exchange for one machine on my want list, non-working/unshopped welcome!

Rona / Home Depot sell replacement prongs. Kinda expensive $6 or so, but a simple repair. Take your time finding a nice one - some are ugly round ones. Some look alot like the original plug (just a harder plastic with a screw head)...
...then test for continuity from lock-down bar to the ground prong as a simple check that other stuff along the way hasn't been comprimised betweent the cord and the box...
I would like to nominate Tuborg for what I think is the most anal comment I've ever seen related to pinball "restoration" !! HAHA !!
SERIOUSLY MAN!! THAT IS FUNNY !!
Ah-huh.... ah-huhuhuhuhuhuhuhuh... dude... you said "anal".
Yeah... actually, that is a compliment, I believe! You just gotta love a guy who takes pride in attention to detail! I could just see Tuborg travelling in time back to 1979, enter a pinball factory, and start berating the factory engineers and workers for using ugly plugs...
The whole reason I sold my Mars Trek was because of its ugly round plug.

Most of the replacement plugs are ugly and way over priced. You can get sensible ones at at a place like "Queensway electric" or Wolf, werever an electrician buys his materials.
Ya thats what the isolation transformers were supposed to do as Sylvan said. But Ontario was the only place in the world that this went on. Ground plugs should be used, always, without one I have measured over 50 volts on the crash bar. With the new electronic games, new! Hell they been out now for 31 years, maybe I am eccentric, anyways the newer electronics should have or do have isolation right from the factory.
Also the ebayer fairtrade_ca is no longer a member, and my one negative feedback out of 329 has been restored to 100% again cause he got kicked off. When they would not answer my emails after making a purchase, and because of the location that was around Hamilton, I actually accused Him of being Mark or whatever the name of the day is.
