Pinball from 80' have fewer gadgets and no dmd to play with it while the ball is lock somewhere. F14 is a good choice and i found Firepower, High Speed and more pins from this era very fast and if you want them faster, make a nice flat clearcoat !!
Pins Bally: Xenon - Centaur - Fathom(Project) - Embryon(Project) Williams: Black Knight(Huo) - Firepower(Project) Gottlieb: Black Hole - Haunted House Stern: Flight 2000(Project) - Freefall(Project) - Big Game(Project) - Seawitch(Project) - Lightning(project) - Quicksilver(Project) WTB: Catacomb (In any condition) View pics here:http://www.pinballowners.com/hal-9ooo (please vote !!! )
I agree with Mrhide on the list. I would have to say:
Firepower Johnny Mnemonic (fastest...) BSD No Fear F-14
The 6th one I would have a multi-way tie. The thing is that most 2-level SS pins, especially Williams with their horseshoe lanes, were VERY fast. BK, BK2K, Pharaoh... all fast. Grand Lizard is also super fast with it's multiball. It all comes down to 2 small playfields which = fast play. My Flash Gordon can also be very fast. But if I had to narrow it down, I would tie it between BK2K and GL.
I have heard that Sea Witch is Super Fast, I haven't seen one or played one, but looking at pictures I can see why.

I'd agree with Gory, Laser War (and BK2K) are fast games (with the music to go along). You might include HS and TGHSII in that list too.
Yep forgot about Laser War but it's the fastest game I've had.. The ramp sucks cause if you blink you'll drain off the ramp shot.
I always found that T2 was fairly fast too with lot's of flow with the 2 ramps.

Previously owned ============= Hot Tip, Countdown, HS, WWF, TFTC, T2, RS, Pinbot, Laser War, LOTR, Flinstones, FH, DM, STTNG, Getaway, Silver Slugger, Laser Ball, Bad Cats, Batman Forever, Meteor, TZ, Galaxy, 6MDM, TSPP, MB.
ST:TNG has the nutral zone, lock shot, Mode start and the cannons which all slow done gameplay quite a bit. The Warp factor shot is fast as hell but I wouldn't really call it a fast game.
Same with LOTR ball stops quite a bith with POTD, the Shite, gimil and the ring magnet. But hell I love those pauses so I can ponder what I should be doing next.

Fair point. I guess I was thinking intensity of play. They feel fast because you have to constantly be thinking about what to do next.

See, and that's pretty much the exact thing I don't especially like about modern pins. Funny that we all have different tastes in that regards. For me "no think", fast and furious, great loops, and good music or sound FX keeps me interested. (Or knock down targets in EMs). Half the time I look up to see waht's happening on a DMD, and the ball drains on me!
