Hey guys

I want to know where is the best , cheapest , place to buy a 19'' monitor

I just don't want to push the luck & make a post similar to : looking for a 19'' monitor with no burn in ...= that more or less never happens

*I know theres ''overpriced starburst'' but besides that....?*

Also Which model is good for the Buck?

Thanks for your help!

What price did Starburst give you?  I find they are reasonable and considering you do not have to pay shipping charges... it's probably the best you will get.  I would not expect to pay less than $200 + shipping.  Expect shipping to be expensive, tubes are heavy.

I've heard good things about the happs vision pro monitors, I know Starburst orders from them.

I'm not 100% certain, but i don't think modern monitor like this need isolation transformer.

at my surprise they haven't changed ...... they still make Un-stable pricing
One day you can get the same for 250$ , 269$ , and the other day 300$ 350$.

You never know with them . they should make an ''on the phone auction too''

Sounds like a winner... $285 for a brand new monitor that you do not have to wait for or worry about customs/shipping, damage, etc.  Make the long trip from Laval and pick one up!

I hear ya.  Starburst can be frustrating but here are some realities for you...
1.  Any shipping of a monitor is going to be expensive and if something breaks in transit you've got to deal with returning it and waiting for a replacement.
2. The cgcc deal is good but you'd have to get the screen shipped from London plus... you've burned your bridges over there so they probably won't deal with you.
3.  You have a written quote from a local distributor... print it and go.  The price is not the best but it's also not the worst.

On the other hand, you could call Denis at camera911.com (amusement911 on ebay)  and get a working, used monitor with little burn for $100.  He's got a warehouse in St-Anne-des-Plaines packed full of old screens.  Or you can buy a used monitor with burn and in need of a capkit from someone here for $40-$50.
