Another pin expedition. Yep they are in da house.... but I don't know where I am going to put them.

I500 probably is going to sit in the garage until I can shop it. It has a couple of issues right off. Motor does not run for the car (at least in test mode) and the led segment light on one of the targets... someone removed all 4 leds? The other led targets don't seem to register hits during edge test. Seems like simple stuff but that is all I could figure was wrong so far. Cosmetically it is awesome otherwise.

G&R will be moving downstairs to the spot left vacant by TAF for shopping first. It needs a good clean and a couple of plastics from what I can see.

Nice to have something to work on again.

I'm *shocked* that you would sell TAF for G&R, considering how long you jonesed for a TAF. Isn't it an "A" list title? I thought that kind of thing mattered to you for some reason.

I chalk it up to A.D.H.D (or attention deficit disorder).  Seems to be common with certain collectors.

Personally, I would never trade my TAF for a DE game.  Love or hate TAF, there is a reason why it was the most produced game of all time and why it still commands a decent price.

I never actively hunted down a TAF, one fell in my lap, so I took it.

Unlike some people I am not afraid to make changes or try other pins, even at the expense of certain titles.

TAF is overrated. Bought it, restored it, played the hell out of it and sold it. Unless another one drops in my lap, I won't be looking for it again. I would be more concerned about NF leaving than TAF and that by far isn't my fav either.

ADHD would be someone who bought it restored and sold it. I restored the game entirely and spent a lot of time in doing so. So that theory is bull. Have you even gotten the pf you bought years ago into yours yet?

Phil here are some pics. I top stripped and cleaned up the pf today, took the speaker panel entirely apart and polished the plastic. Cleaned the cab and vacuumed. Fixed the GI which was complete out and a couple other connector issues. All coils, lights and flasher are A1 now. Stripped all the mylar and removed adhesive. Novus 3 - 2 and wax. All in a days work. The drop targets need replacement, so does the Axel plastic and I will Cliffy the hole as there is some wear on the sides as can be seen in the pick. I will be rebuilding the flippers next and then awaiting parts.

Well if you have all the time and money, all the power to you.  Raising a young family takes priority for me.  But I am sure you are aware of all of this.

No, and for three reasons.  I just got it back two weeks ago, after another maaca member graciously fixed up the clearcoat imperfections on the inserts, that were caused by  PlayfieldRenovations.com.  And secondly, the game is so well love by my family, I don't think they would be too impressed if I took the machine down for a restoration.  Its the first game that everyone loves, from my 2 year old to my wife.  Thirdly, I am busy restoring some vintage solid state pinballs at the moment (and a sys11).

I am actually envious of all the time that you have put into fixing your collection and that you are having to seek out projects.

And so for me, but at some point your kids are going to want to spend more time with their friends.

Enjoy them while you can. The pins will wait.

By the way my kids and all their friends are here at the house. Our house is the one all the kids come to. They shoosh me away, but I am still poking my nose in where I can.

Now enough about the kids and the dogs. Looky here at them pins.

Have you braced yourself yet to discuss the S word with them? Are you prepared for that unavoidable moment / talk all  parents dread? You know it will happen one day sooner or later  that one of your kids will want to buy a Stern  for their own  spot in the gameroom.

lol. DE is already a stretch.

First G&R I have had the opportunity to play where you can make the shots. I counted three at least multiball modes off a single ball. 6 ball, 3 ball and 2 ball. I haven't a clue what I did but it sure was interesting.

GNR was my first DMD pin and altough the novelty has worn off a bit it's still a keeper for me.      After all it's GNR baby!

Indy 500.  Still can't say enough about this pin.  It really gets the adrenaline pumpin.  Love everything about this game and always look forward to playing it when I have a pin session.

TAF still does it for me.  Some of the best sounds, voices, music and shots in pinball.  The multiball is exhilarating......... but then again it all boils down to personal taste.

Congrats on your new pins Glen!

PS Find some room for the Indy 500, you won't regret it.

Well first off. Good to hear from you Flashman! I was beginning to feel you had dropped off the face of the earth.

Yes,  I am more open to looking for a good home to "store" some pins rather then to giving anything up right now.

Thanks for the offer Adam. 1 of them already made it down. I500 is still in  the hall where I want it. I shop in clear daylight to get to all the nasty little points that need to be addressed. Unfortunately that happens to be upstairs.

Yes TZ is my planned sarcophogus. It is written in my will to place me in my TZ inside of my BOSS 351 and plant me in the perverts row of Whiskey A Go Go. The wife is up on all the arrangements.

In the end TAF vs G&R (plus bonus I500) no regrets. This is an awesome game. TAF never entertained me like this one.

Being a G&R fan "it goes to 11" JH. I am a big audio (so anyone that has come here and asked me to reduce the volume) guy to get me into a pin and this one has it!

If you haven't talked to them about Stern before they become teenagers, then what kind of parent are you!?

looks sweet, i think GNR will be my next target acquisition after TSPP. mostly for theme though!

that would be three pins and not a WMS among them ... never would have thought that possible a couple years ago!
