It was a piece of wood, about 2" x 10", that had 'Funhouse Ticket' painted on it. It had a couple of keys hanging off the end.
$800?? How much did they want for the whole funhouse?
gjd. Sounds like you made off like a bandit for your museum. Probably a once in a lifetime chance to get pieces like that for that low a price this side of the border.
Kind of knocks the wind out of the sails of Starburst auctions.
Fantastic! When will the museum be open? I've got fists full of quarters.
Leave your quarters at home. Plan is to put all machines on free play, and have a flat fee for say 4-5 hrs, say 10$. Machines that cant be configured for free play, we will use tokens, but they will be free. The reason we are thinking of 10$ for a certain time limit, is to keep undesirables from hanging there all day, everyday, Also would give a chance to close down for a half hour to an hour or so to eat, and clean up, we want to keep the place and the machines nice and clean.

I think the 800 was a typo. Pretty sure it was 75 or 80 that it went for.
There was a guy on the phone who would not be outbid on anything.
He got the keys, the blueprints, the punch clock, the time sheet cubby, the life preserver, the wood clown face carving, assorted carnival game signs and the Bally Bingo game. Probably spent around 5K.
what other neat non vid or pin items were there? i really wanted the record your own voice. didn't get a call from anyone about it. but thats ok. i should have just taken the day off. but it ended up being the busiest day of the week. so that was good on my end. any idea how much the record your own voice went for? condition?

if i remember, i think it went for 800 or so, it was in ok shape, i seriously doubt it was working though. Some other interesting things were the wrought iron gates from crystal beach entrance, the doors to the funhouse, barber chair, old cart from around the 1940's made of wood, to haul games with, a bunch of signs, and 2 huge industrial fans, i got one of those for 20$

BTW what's with the cellphone?
Thanks, I did, truth be told, i paid only 5$ for more than a few of those em's. I paid 300 for the combat, but after the mini bidding war between me and another fellow, we agreed on what he wanted, and what I wanted, after that , it was all downhill from there ( As far as prices are concerned). Also, there were a few other guys there, some of their names escape me, but one of them was Terry, the other was Steve, and they certainly helped me out as well, to which I owe them a great deal, and am going to make it worth their while. Funny you used the term "made off like a bandit", becuase that is what my buddy and I kept saying on the drive home, almost as if it was a dream!
You cant really see the pic, but basically it is a trigger for an IED, and it says 1 missed call on the screen, was defused before it had a chance to go off.Open source stuff.
yeah you definately made off like a bandit, i was the guy who looked like jack black and dave navarro's love child. all in all an awesome auction. wish i had actually bought atleast one cab, regretted it the whole ride home lol.

nope not a typo, key definately went for 800 bucks to number 400 and she definately spent a lot more than 5k, the wood face carving went for 1500 or somthing, plus an extra 25% on the top of all her buys.

I think that the mysterious # 400 had a budget of 5000, because the first em game that I was bidding on inside the building, the Big Top shooter, went to # 400 for 500$. I figured that I wasn't going to get any of the ones I wanted for cheap after that, but that was it for bidding by #400 after the Big Top, thank God.
i was the guy with the dark shirt, buying all the em games. At the beginning I got the killer instinct, the lethal enforcer and the blasteroids in the small room. I was also the guy that tried to have the auctioneer put all those boards together in a lot for 100$. you were the guy with the black shirt?
