Wondering your opinions on these. Worth it or what? Probably going to be on an individual basis but if part of the love for pinball is the sound quality, I'm sure you will think it's worth it.
The guy I bought the DM from this weekend has an Addam's Family with the sound kit (8" subwoofer and upgraded speakers), I think he got it on Ebay from Pinball Pro. Wondering if any of you have bought one and what your opinion is.
I thought the base was awesome, floor rumbled, etc. I'd like to see how it sounds on all 3 of my machines. I think the T-2 will sound exceptionally good with the canon power up sounds, T-2 theme music, etc.
Also if there's somewhere else that is better to buy from or cheaper, or a better kit out there ( I don't know if there are more than one kit but probably is), point me in that direction. I'm thinking of buying one kit and trying it out (JD and DM take same one, T-2 is different though).
Or if you think it's a waste of money state that too.

Firehawk734, I will PM you details on the kits that I have. I don't have a 8" sub option but I am working on it. The kits that I do have sound amazing but with just an average amount (and not super sub rattle) type of bass.
Monkeybug, I have some for sale. I will post on maaca.org (and put some on EBAY actually) this weekend with details.
Thanks.

LoL 1000 watts eh? What did the upgrade cost you altogether?
It was all Ebay crap. the sub cost about 40$ (refurb), the amp cost 90$ (refurb), The small speakers I bought locally @ full price (70$), and the PC power supply you can get them for 25$. The important thing was to get a 3 channel amp (Left, right, sub) because DE machines are stereo. Also the amp needed to have inputs for already amplified sound.
IT was WAYYYYYY too much overkill... I could've easily shattered the pf glass had I been careless... The ball was actually vibrating/bouncing on the playfield.. You could feel the air pumping in and out around the lockdown bar near the flipper buttons.. Freaky..
I think using half that wattage / power would be more than adequate..
Mike

Hi. Guys, I have a few kits ready to go for those interested. Please PM me.
Due to a slight increase in my local source of the L-PAD control part, I have to raise the prices by $5 to $125 (WPC-95), $140 (DCS) and $145 (pre-DCS) for the kits but are still decently priced I hope. The details are still in the old post if you look at my signature link.
I can do something custom for certain games depending on the need (probably at no extra cost) and if I have enough info (or close to someone with such a machine). For games like Addams Family or BSD, I am working on possible panel upgrades as those panels need holes for special lights that are put in there. Another example is if you already have an 8" sub with a modified cabinet bottom hole and hence need the rest of the kit from me besides the 6 1/2" speaker/sub, I can just subtract that item from the kit (and about $25 for that one speaker).
Also, I am working on some upgrades for Data East TFTC, JP (maybe even GNR) type of games and also for System11 SoF, Space Station, F-14 type of games. Stay tuned for those soon if I decide to sell some kits (the prices for these will probably be <=$125 as they involve less parts/work).
Thanks for those who have supported me on this project!

I hope you are serious about the 8" subs because I would wait for you if you are going to offer those in future months. I'd rather buy from members here than pinball pro and pay a little more for it but knowing it comes highly recommended. I just want more bass than normal though.

Hi. I will see what I can do in the next month or so. I have to make an adapter plate to attach the 8" sub to the existing mounting block. I don't have a CNC machine or anything but I will see if a drill press and circular hole cutter bit might give me something decent to use. I can more easily do it if someone wants to cut the hole at the bottom of their machine (the mounting block comes off and I fabricate a newer one that is easier to make than an adapter template). But that requires a new grill mesh (a bit larger than stock)....
Always customizing/refining, stay tuned.
Thanks.
