THanks Duane,
I realize that all of the damage that the stair climbers do is perhaps rub off a little rubber (particularly on hard wood), but I was moving a pinball from a multimilliondollar home on the lake in Oakville ... the owner (a nice Doctor) was more paranoid of his wife's reaction than anything (though I found her to be easy going).
I am a lightweight, and Dr. helper was big/strong actually, and I've moved a few EM pinballs with no problems, but this Shaq Attaq, with the head on was more than I could handle going up and around a turn (but then I was lifting probably all of the weight from the top on each stair since I couldn't really lean it back (getting the hard wheels up over the stair bullnose). By the last two stairs the calcium had taken hold and my muscles were exhausted (but then I also suffer from minor rheumatoid arthritis).
Taking the head off would be better, but it would involve taking the hinges off, I might try it.
On the appliance dollies I have rented (and now own), none of them have ever allowed the track to move at all, they simply rub on the rubber so I have to overcome the friction as well, so perhaps that's part of the problem too, cheap dollies? |
