Anyone know how much EM pinballs cost in 1976?
I've been wondering... let's say a Gottlieb 4 player like Royal Flush or Spirit of '76 - it doesn't matter. I really have no idea how much they cost back then.

Cheers, mfl

They ranged from $700 - $900 brand new. Just for interest's sake, check out the following list of NIB prices on these games...back when they first came out, of course:

Stern Meteor   1979   1795.00
Williams Gorgar  1980  1895.00
Stern Flight 2000  1980  1995.00
Gottlieb Mars God of War  1981  2282.00
Gottlieb Black Hole  1981   2409.00
Williams Black Knight  1981  2386.00
Bally Xenon  1981     2074.00
Midway Baby PacMan 1982   2777.00
Williams Hyperball  1982   2829.00
Williams High Speed  1986   2252.00
Williams Police Force  1989   2750.00
Williams Funhouse  1991  2695.00

Just out of curiousity, where did the prices come from?

I remember reading a article about how High Speed was nicknamed something like "High Game" or something with the designers at Williams, yet in retrospect it's still less than Police Force afew years later...

Thanks... those were the days my friend.

I'm still trying to decide if $700 - $900 was alot of money.

Rent on my 3 bedroom - 3 floor flat, Queen Street and Beverley (very downtown Toronto) cost $200 a month. If I remember correctly a pack of 20 cigarettes cost $1.05, and a glass of draft beer cost a quarter. $1CDN was $1.10USD and my brother's 1975 Dodge Dart (with a 318 slant six) cost about $5,000 back then.

Prices came from Lloyd at SS Billiards which means they're in US dollars(!)....

http://groups.google.ca/group/.....m=1#2422e436975b9c0b

I guess we should be thankful that current selling prices haven't surpassed original prices on these games like they have with some of the newer 90's pins!

i dont think any retailers publicize this price, but i'm pretty sure new sterns can be had for just under 4k if you look hard enough.

states, of course.

although alouette recently tried to sell me an RBION that looked new for 3800 canadian. great game but i'd rather buy HUO for less from a private seller, and skip the sales tax.
