I signed up, but I find the search engine limited. Machine-wise, you can only search by title... not by manufacturer.
Hello, let me present myself first. I'm Rick, pinball collector and webmaster of pinballowners.com How did I get here? It's a Google Analytics miracle. Too many new members from Canada all at once Well, just wanted to thank you for joining the site. I am always open to suggestions about how to improve the user experience of the website; keep in mind, however, that this is a project I carry over in my spare time, and it also subtracts to the time I dedicate to pinball restorations! Well, this is just to say I am not working on the website full-time. Yesterday I added an image zoom feature that auto resizes to show all images the same, no matter how big (or small!) they are. Please try it and tell me if it works well for you.
Now this is for the original poster of the quoted message... how would a search-by-manufacturer help your search? Do you realy want to search for all Bally machines? With over 3,500 games in the database it would mean lot of pages. Or am I missing something?
My suggestion was because I noticed that you have an auction and sale capability. Your site will be used by people who are looking to buy a machine, and most collectors like to look for their favorite pinball manufacturer, such as a guy looking for a classic solid-state Bally, or Williams WPC. Your site lets you pick your preference (early solid-state, EM, etc...) when you register, but you cannot search for a machine other than with the name of the machine directly. I am a huge fan of the early Sterns and the only way for me to see all the owners who have some was to conduct a search for every game, one by one.
As for doing it in your spare time, I know EXACTLY what you are going through. We have been running this site for well over 3 years now. We originally thought of doing what you are doing now, but we already have our hands full here!!!

I also like early STERNs. I am the proud owner of two Nine Ball's, and the great Orbitor 1 What about adding a "manufacturer" pulldown list in the "game search" parameters? Would that work for you?

Thanks Rick
That would be great!!!! 2 Nine Balls? Wow... great pin. Orbitor 1 is also high on my list for being so different!!! I have always considered Sterns to be great. I had 5 at one time but sold some to fix my house, but i firmly intend to get more!
