Here are some photos on RGP showing stages of building MM. Notice the Williams on the translite. Remember Wayne can only build under Bally. You be the judge.
But those are only a few parts. (...and I believe that they already had a bunch of these from awhile ago, so I don't know if these are "recently manufactured" .. )
Still, for those who plunked down $6000, it must be a welcomed sight.
A lot of people will have to eat crow if these ever do get re-built...
Should be interesting to watch the story unfold...
Trying not to weigh in on if it will get built or not ... my previous bet was no .., but I think Wayne might do it out of spite now after all the RGP bashing. Still, I don't have 5K for one new or used in either case.
My main problem with the pictures is the lack of people in them. Pinball's don't build themselves and they surely don't consist of just 8-15 pieces. If you want to show stacks of things I would be more impressed with CPU and power boards. Its a long way to go from a target and kicker assembly to a complete MM. The projected release date of end of 2007 will go by like one of Douglas Addams deadlines.
I am not convinced by seeing some targets (trolls) or a translite. Those are the type of parts that have been for sale in the past for other machines. Even electronic PCBs would not be proof enough (as they have already been remade by companies in modern day more reliable electronics).
Where I would really be convinced is if we see the actual PFs done. That is probably the more complicated part to make (and costly for the manufacturer).
Good luck to those who have sent in the deposits.
Vids: Crystal Castles, Gauntlet/Gauntlet II, Donkey Kong Jr., Ms. Pac-Man, Vs. Super Mario Bros. (other Vids in storage - for now) Pins:White Water [WH2O]
- troll heads - gold siderails and balls - somewhat illegal translite - knocker units without coils.
...oh, and an old System 6 power supply laying atop plastic bins.
Hardly worth getting excited over. This looks like a feeble attempt to make people excited over a supposed build... looks more like Mr.Gillard laying out replacement parts he built on some fold-out tables to fool everyone.
Whe I will see sone empty cabs being fitted, inked playfields being populated, and real boardsets being installed, THEN I would say he is building them. But what I don't get is why Wayne doesn't show just 1 pic of something being built. Stern does... Gary Stern lets people in his shop on a tour, and has released pics before. OH YEAH.... it's because Wayne ISN'T building anything.
