This request is aimed at Sparky ( are  you still the administrator ? ) but also to anyone who thinks this may be a good idea :

Although some members list the pins or arcade games they own in their member info, not everyone does it, and moreso, the list is probably very inaccurate for most members.

When I have a question about say, a Flash Gordon, I think it would be handy to access an area where I can see all the members who presently own a Flash Gordon.   That way, if I have a request for a scan, or some other item specific to that machine, I can zero in on members who might most be able to help me.

Is this a good idea ?  Do we have something like this already ?  Of course, members would have to be diligent in updating the list as machines come and go.

Personally, I would find it handy.

Not everyone is comfortable with anyone and everyone knowing every machine they have at any given time.

If anything I find the lists slighty agravating, not to single anyone out but Gory is the worst offender, I have to scroll down like 6 pages to get past his list

I know that when I see a member's games listed in their signature, it helps me a lot to focus in on certain games that I either have a problem with and need to solve or one that I am considering to purchase, sometimes even to make an offer. I like the idea but it should be optional because I understand if someone is not comfortable mentioning their machines. Some people like to be the strong silent type and lurk the boards and stay private, I am ok with that too

Ricker's current lineup;

El Dorado          Flash.                   Royal Flush           Joker Poker
Volley               Pioneer                 Barracora             Black Knight
Meteor             Xenon

Couldn't agree more..although I can't really grasp why someone is uncomfortable with sharing info regarding game ownership....but that's the beauty of the list......people can opt in or out.....they can share ALL their info or only SOME of it.

Perhaps the master list would allow people to do away with their lengthy sigs (e.g.) gory.  I, for one, would put all my pins on the list and then shorten my sig accordingly.

Yeah... still an administrator...

OK... signatures are the easiest place to do it, but not very effective. The best way I saw was to use http://www.pinballowners.com . Great site, and easy to search for specific machines. The problem is it works by waves... people register their machines, and lose interest quick in updating your account. We had proposed to keep a database here once, but it was too much hassle. People find me annoying already... they don't need for me to PM them every once in a while to ask them what they have.

Also, as Vengeance wrote, there are lots of people that don't want others to know what they have for different reasons.

How about we do this... I will open a sticky thread in the Gameroom section of the forum entitled MACHINE INVENTORY. You can post in it and write what you have. If I see a reply on someone's post, I will delete it. We will keep that thread STRICTLY for inventory's sake. And if you change a machine of yours, merely go in the thread and update your post with a notice stating "UPDATED ON...".

Let's give ity a try...

I think he was joking.  I disabled sig's as well.  Too much redundant scrolling over a handful of large sigs.  I will be nicer than Adam and not single anyone out

You can't search sig's, right?

Oops....looks like I went FOURTH.

I can see that this method may be the easiest, but it is not what I envisioned.  If I need info on a Flash Gordon, am I still not forced to scroll through a myriad of game lists ?   I was hoping to be able to type in "Flash Gordon" and be taken to the Flash Gordon list....or simply scroll through the list according to titles, not according to members.

Know what I mean ?

Click on SEARCH, type Flash Gordon and search in the Gameroom section. Go ahead and try with Barracora... my machine will come up.

No, you can't. So if you post your signature as your inventory, it is redundant.
