Family members and guests - should never be allowed to touch our machines. It never fails, get a machine up and running, there are still a couple things to sort out, guests arrive, want to play, and they find the faults - you look like a fool reaching under the glass.
I guess the optimists way of looking at it would be "guests and family are helping me beta test the machines".
It never fails, even at the very best collectors' houses machines go down in tournament play all the time. No wonder arcades have them unless they have an onsite tech.
i understand completly. had the machine at the shop set up for free play after we had another party there. i left them that way for over a week. now most machines need a cleaning or some little repair. i never really have time at work to do loads of repairs. just little things here and there.
How frustrating is to find a machine you played few days agos now have a stupid bug... I imagine it's worst when your waited all this time and can't even play with them!

I was just thinking the same thing, this hobby is more like a sickness. What is the definition of insanity doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. If that doesn't sum it up, I don't know what does. Get machine up and running play a couple of hours and poofy some other bug appears. But I definitely have the pinball bug myself and don't see me getting rid of it.
