Hi.  Aside from widebody vs regular pinball machines, as the playfield glass changed at all over the years?

Example, is the glass that goes into an older Bally 1980 type pinball like Xenon or Elektra the same size as one that goes into a DMD White Water?

Thanks.

Vids: Crystal Castles, Gauntlet/Gauntlet II, Donkey Kong Jr., Ms. Pac-Man, Vs. Super Mario Bros. (other Vids in storage - for now)
Pins: White Water [WH2O]

According to an older article in the popular usenet newsgroup rec.games.pinball,
as well as from marvin3m WPC pinball repair web site, and other research,
here are some dimensions (in inches; some are approximation).

Playfield glass sizes (all 3/16" thick TEMPERED glass with smooth edges):

Standard pin - 21" x 43"
superpin - 23-3/4" x 43"
Safe Cracker - 18-1/2" x 36-1/2"
Slug Fest - 23" x 35-1/4"
Gottlieb Widebody such as Black Hole (Sys1/Sys80) - 24 5/8" x 48 3/8"
Bally w-i-d-e body (Embryon, Space Invaders, etc.): approx 27-1/2" x 43"
Gottlieb w-i-d-e body (Circus, Star Race): approx 27 5/8" x 48 3/8"

I am fairly sure White Water will take the standard 21" x 43" standard size.

Cheers,
- Sylvain
