Anything near the airport will be pricey for sure, but if you organize enough people going you could probably get a group rate.  Other than that, there are a bunch of motels down at Park Lawn & Lakeshore that aren't too bad, and would probably be cheaper.  They're about 15 mins away from the Playdium Store (and right across from where I work!   )

I've been doing allot of searching in and around the area for hotels and I haven't been able to find much of anything below $70.  

Yea we could organize something, mabye on the Saturday after the end of Qualifying?

Ok... it looks like I've been given the green light (...by my wife...) to attend the show.

However my stay is limited as I have to be home (Ottawa) by Saturday night.

My plan is to drive to T.O. on Friday, drop by the Playdium on Friday afternoon/supper,
attend the auction on Saturday, and head back home around 1-2pm Saturday afternoon.

But for now, my questions are :

1- Will I be able to play some pinball at the Playdium on Friday night,
even if I don't plan on participating in the tournament  Sat and Sunday ?

2- If so, do I still need to register and pay $25 ?
(...or is there a "cheaper" option for Friday playing only ?  [practice maybe ? ] )
I just want to try out the new Sterns...

3- Is anyone else going on Friday, or is everyone only going on Sat-Sun ?

3A- Is there any plans to have MAACA gathering on Friday night ?
(either before of after playing some pin on at the Playdium )

1) I can't really comment, one thing I do know for sure is that you will not be able to play on the qualifying bank of games unless your are qualifying.  I think I remeber saying that they would have machines around for people to just play, but don't quote me on it.

2)  If you don't want to participate in the Tournament then you don't need to pay the $25, but you can still spectate.

3) What do you mean by anything else?  First day of qualifying is the Friday, I'll be there Friday to qualify, I like to get an early start on these things.

3A) I can't help organize anything for a Friday night as I have to pickup Eden of the VRPA from the airport at 1am but I'm up for hosting a MAACA event on the Saturday after qualifying if anyone is interestead.  I figure I've already got 1 MAACA member and a VRPA member at my house might as well host the event there.

I was thinking a few MAACA members could come by my place for a small get together that Friday night if they'd like. I live about 35 minutes away via the HWY.

If we went up to Adam & Denise's on Saturday, it be just like a pinball triple header! I'd also be in for a Keswick visit on Saturday night.

Just a thought. PM me if you'd be in for that idea ( Friday night ) so I can get a estimate on numbers.... man, this is going to be alot of pinball!

I haven't seen anything from Mr.Hide, comon Phil you gotta be able to make this event, I still want my shot to play against you!

  was thinking of entering eve.  she is now 20months and useing both flippers on her own.  what are the rules for the kids like?  will i be able to hold her up and let her play?  if so i might register her as well.  know there isn't any kids t's but she can get a extra one for her pa....

The kids tournament is free, there is no pre-registration required. Don't quote me but I believe the kids tournament is for kids up to 15 years of age. I can't imagine anyone would have a problem with you holding her and letting her play for fun.

  sounds like she would have a blast.  was going to just be me and the boys going up.  but must take eve up for one of the days at least.
