It seemed that by one of the comments made their goal was to clear the way to the pinballs. I think they knew their games by the comments. A person not knowing pins whould not normally say there is a
Mata Hari
but normally would just comment it was some old pinball.

I know how I would have approached a find like this. First off they could of gotten a lot of free labour. If they had gone through and marked down everything they were going to keep and then start calling and posting to the community it would of almost all gone to collectors. You just need to set rules like if you want a part you have to take the entire unit and if you want that particular game (something restorable or almost complete) it will cost x and x being a bargain price for removing it.

I am sure the process would have taken longer in the end, but the machines would have gone to the right place.

I agree with Necro, especially with the comment on the video about clearing out the videogames to get to the pinballs.

I didnt see one pinball being scrapped.  Just a lot of videogames being tossed.  The games were not properly stored and a lot were probably in bad shape.  In some parts of the video, you can see some of the games were broken down.  That would mean they might have stripped them of parts before hand.

But looking at the storage conditions, I wonder how much would have been junk? (ruined playfields, peeling backglasses, mold etc....).  Still a great find though...

Hard to say, if they were elevated off the floor and the glass still in place the roof leaks probably would have gotten to some but I would suspect there would have been some good stuff still in there.

At the very least they could of cannabalized the vids for boards, harnesses, doors and various controls. It may have brought some projects back to life with original parts. It appears they had no interest or understanding of the value of vids.
