I've got a little problem with my BSD, maybe someone already seen (and hopefully fixed) that.

Mist always work right from right to left, if i miss the ball, the left gate opens and let the ball get in. However, if i start mist again, the ball will then go from left to right... if i miss it, the right gate does not open and the ball gets dropped on the pf, automatically starting the mist multiball just like i hit the ball myself.

I did runned the test mode and the gate coil is working perfect ? The tests does it from right to left and left to right and both gates are always opening perfectly. Is there a sensor adjustement that is activating too far and should be adjusted to open the gate faster (before the balls hit it) ?

Thx for any help/comment.

Although it's been a while that my BSD has 'left the building', I would look into the optos...

I'm sure that I can fix it for you.

I just need to play it for a while first... you know, to access the situation.

Just send it out to me and I'm sure that I could get it back to you by August... Or September at the latest... O.K October but you'll have to send it quick.

Or if you must do it yourself then I've read that you should also check the limit switches under the playfield and also the gate's lift solenoid for binding... Oh and Q7 on the fliptronics board.

Good-luck
Adam

Check something properly... when I had it, it was the left gate that was the problem. Oh, it opened... just not enough! The spring was getting tired and opened up a bit, causing the gate to only open half-way. The ball was hitting it on the way in.

Now the situation might be happening on the right side. Best thing to do first is activate the gate in test mode, and try to slide the ball under when it is open. If you have contact between the ball and the gate, it is either not adjusted, spring is tired, or something is rubbing against the gate, keeping it from opening properly.

If the ball goes in without rubbing, it might be a dirty opto.

Is that to imply that sending the pin to me would be an improper way to check it.

Thx for your tips all...

Indeed Sparky, the left gate was not working correctly for a while but i got that fixed a few months ago, fixed the spring and its all good now.

Surprisingly, i now fixed the right gate as well by playing with the magnet switch and the gate coil a bit, something must have been jammed in some ways because it is now working flawlessly, during game AND during test mode.... go figure. I think the right gate never worked well since i got it now that i think about it, whatever was jamming it is now gone and no more free multiballs lol

I have voodoo skills   100% working BSD again, crossing fingers ! Man i'm so glad i didnt sell it last month, not sure why i was bored, i think i was bored of about anything in my life in general... That game keeps growing on me !! So simple yet so addictive..

You should still send it to me just to make sure... I can have it back to you by November.
