A ma grande surprise il me repond:

""Pascal,

  alley for $20.00.
  Thanks, Michael""

2-3 jours passent....

""Pascal,
Hey dude, you have a old computer or something. I sent pics again, and got a failure message that the email was too large to go through. Same as before. If you really need these things then you are going to have to do something else.                                                                        Michael""

""Pascal wrote:

""Pascal,
Try and find whatever you need somewhere else. I do not need your attitude or your money.""

""Ok, no problem.
Juste a little note: I hope you will understand than I don't know you and I
was ready to send you $50 for parts I did not see..... Would you send me the
parts before I paid you??? Probably not because you don't know me!

I'm sure you understand my "attitude"!
Thanks again and sorry to have wasted your time!

Pascal.""

I can't understand your comments, but the dialog speaks for itself. Some people, yeesh! BTW, I wouldn't blame Mr Pinball, they're not responsible for the people that post ads.

Being positive, I'd guess the email with the photos was too large (maybe more than 1 MB) so they got bounced back by your mail server.     You could get a gmail account or something with much higher allowed mail sizes.

Being negative, he was scamming you, and it was smart to ask for photos of a rare schematic.

Bonne chance

I would like to know if anyone has had such an experience on Mr.Pinball as a buyer...

My Story:

I never bought anything on Mr pinball. 2 weeks ago, I fell upon this ad: (shortened)

Great... I do need those inserts:  NOS triangular translucent 2 and 13/16 inch maroon lane inserts, $10.00 each

I send the seller an email to see if it was still available:

""I found your ad on Mr pinball...

$10.00each

Response:

""Pascal,
I have 5 or 6 left. The shipping will be $2.50.

Good! So far so good!

  ""Pascal wrote:

To my surprise, he answers:

""Pascal,
I have a nice original schematic for a 1960 United Sure Fire shuffle
  alley for $20.00.
  Thanks, Michael""

To my big surprise because even Jeff Wager doesn't have these schematic!!! And God knows he hasmany, even rare ones!!

""Pascal wrote:

Then, 1 week with no news....

""Pascal wrote:
Michael, Are you still there??

""Pascal,
I already sent pictures last week and did not hear from you. Your computer did not download my email with the photo files, I guess.
                                                                                                 Michael""

Hmmm, getting fishy!!!

""Pascal wrote:

2-3 days pass....

""Pascal,

Ok, at this point, I am about top tell him to go screw himself but I hold back... my computer has nothing to do with images I get or not!!! At this point, I test him...

""Pascal wrote:
No, I dont have an old computer! You probably are the only person who can

""Pascal,

Normally at this point I would be telling him to f**k off, but I was smarter than him and I answered:

""Ok, no problem.
Juste a little note: I hope you will understand than I don't know you and I
was ready to send you $50 for parts I did not see..... Would you send me the
parts before I paid you??? Probably not because you don't know me!

Thanks again and sorry to have wasted your time!

Pascal.""

No news since.
Obviously, he will never see a penny from me!!! But it pisses me off because I needed those 2 inserts for my Varsity!!

Can we truly trust anyone selling parts on M.Pinball????
Have any of you had bad experiences??
That is why I rather use Ebay, at least you have SOME recourse and it does feel good to let loose on the feedback!!

Pascal

You asked for an opinion on Mr. Pinball.  All the sellers are different.

But I don't know dude, it sounds like you lost your cool a little when you sent this:

""Pascal wrote:
No, I dont have an old computer! You probably are the only person who can
> not send me a picture!"

When asking a favour it's not a good idea to get pushy.  Instead you could ignore his remark and could have said "I'm sorry, my email account only accepts images of xMB size. Can you make them smaller or send one separately to test?  I hate to put you through this, but I would like a picture of the items before you send them. Thank you for all the trouble you are going to."

You get more flies with sugar than vinegar.

Who knows, but that line qualifies as attitude IMHO.  No offense intended, sometimes the sellers are old farts or people with low experience on the Internet and they don't understand or have no netiquette.

I'll bet if you go back with an appology, an explaination and a possible option (such as a picture uploading site) you may get him back on board.  If still no pics then it isn't worth it iunless you can get positive recommendations for the seller on RGP.

I have had some issues with the Mr.Pinball Classifieds, as much selling as buying. Most often when buying the description of the item was somewhat lacking in details. Cases in point:

- I bought a Lightning backglass that was rated a solid 8 with minimal cracking. True.... especially since it was half flaked off.

- One buyer asked me for 57 pictures (I mess you not...) then proceeded to lowball.

- Dealt a lot with impatient sellers like this one... they get crapped on by one guy and end up being crabby with 10 other buyers even if they are nice.

Worse case scenario, someone here can buy the items for you.
