Since you are going to meet him, you could get the voice samples that you want.  Then you could always check out one of the proximity devices in a cheap halloween ornament.  You might even be able to rip one out and use it.

Voice samples are easy, can pull tons of them from the TV episodes.

My problem comes in figureing out how to replace the existing sounds on one of the toys or figuring out a way to create my own mechanisim.

there are a lot of crappy outdoor electronic bird things out there, you press and hold a button and record a message, and then anytime the motion sensor goes off, it replays it,
hack that and build it into your character, really cheap and it will work, may sound like crap, but who knows till ya try

WOW, that's a SCARY neighbor on the left. Glad you never told me that when I was there. Also glad you never told me about the snakes either. Not a big fan of snakes. I can handle looking at em or coming across one in the bush, but no way am I picking one up...PERIOD (lol)
