Yah, that's the one.

I was also a little puzzled that there was only two Joust pins listed.

I know of at least 4 that sold on eBay since last December,
all of them over $4K.
(... yes, I've been keeping an eye on them !

Cheers,
Steph

I think they only calculated the pins listed on ebay.com.  I'm pretty sure 2 of the Joust pins that came up recently were on ebay.ca.

As I have stated in the past, Ebay should not be used as a gauge to value a pin... the Niagara pin is a great example... 2 of them sold for big bucks, probably because 2-3 guys wanted one REAL bad, but then again it doesn't mean that the pin is worth what it sold for...

Also, there is always the condition... I have seen some HUO pins that were beat to mess, and some route pins that were very nice... So just because you see an Addams Family sell for 14000$, doesn't mean that yours is worth as much, even if it was also a Gold.

Retiring soon...

I totally agee!  ToM is way over rated ... sheesh.  People should liquidate their stock of that one immediately before the value falls any more!  I know I certainly would grudgingly accept one for under $2000 to help out a fellow MAACA friend in need.

Many keep saying pins like TOM are overated, but their value keeps rising. Five years ago, when they were 6-7 years old and still in good shape, you could get one for the low two thousand dollars. Try to find a shopped one under $3000. All the Williams A- List pins seem keep rising $100-200 per year. Five years ago you could buy a TZ for under $2500, try to find one now for under $3500. People laughed when I bought my HUO TZ last year for over four thousand and now I see members selling routed TZ for four thousand dollars.
The value of A-list games will rise or a least hold and Ebay sales back that up. In reading this chart of Ebay sales, if you discard the top 5% sales of any pin (because someone did a great restoration) and bottom 5% sales (because the pin has issues), you will find the EBAY value of any pin is pretty accurate on what the market value.

It has been scientifically proven that light is faster than sound. That is why some people seem brilliant........until they open their mouth!

We old timers (hic) forget too that the dollar is constantly rising (value depreciating) - inflation.  I laughed when my salary earnings in my 30's were higher than my Dad's in the early 90's (but of course he got a pension), but cry when I hear what they are paying some 20 year olds today!

Still, winning the lottery aside, why isn't it that I couldn't be the one to find some pinball time vault somewhere....    Or maybe I should just get to know you all better and come play at your houses!? (lol)

Still if anyone needs to dump their ToM stock, I will buy at bargain basement prices (somehow).

Ebay tends to be the dumping ground for less than stellar condition pins. Unless it is one of the high end restoration jobs the rest of it is pretty run of the mill condition stuff. I don't know if the prices are reflective of the dumped pins or more of the high priced full restoration stuff. I would suspect the greater volume is the dumping.
