It was suggested that we create a TRON Crest.

They have thread colours that will fluoresce under black light, and they also have thread that will glow in the dark, after being exposed to a light source.

Let me know if this is something that appeals.

Hate is a strong word, but as an example I didn't purchase either the MAACA or CGCC crest as I didn't really like either of them.

5 for me please.... only because I am a Tron-whore.

I am not kidding when I say that if Stern produces this pin, I might end up buying my first NIB pin.

Yes I was thinking a patch of the code so the game would play more like this. :P

Not bad. But I think jean vest is the way to go. My flipper flippers need to breeeeeeath. They can't be hindered by denim. My arms need to be freeeee to really feel the floooooow. Be the Ball. You know?

I was thinking about something like this, as a round crest.

"Tron" could have some glow in the dark stitching, and the other bright colours in the spinner logo, and the "electronic" pattern in at the back could be done in threads that would fluroesce under black light.

I'm not sure about that guy on your image...he seems kinda generic...

I've always liked the classic two people on the Tron poster.....just a thought. I'm sure whatever you make will look sweet!

The Classic Tron poster is fantastic artwork.  There are two problems with using the "Tron poster"  as  a base for embroidery.  (1)  It's not possible to do the "glow" effect in embroidery  (2)  The people in the poster are too small, as an image to properly convert to embroidery.

Generic Tron guy will look good once he's embroidered.  You won't really be able to tell the difference between him and the real Tron guy.

I've had some complaints about the Tron figure in the first concept art.  How about this...Do you like it any better?

Posted by: Marsupial, July 17, 2010, 8:43pm; Reply: 33
Personally I preferred the original one.
All being said, I would still be interested in this one.
Posted by: Bish, July 17, 2010, 8:49pm; Reply: 34
Someone mentioned that I should try to differentiate between the Tron video game,  from a  Tron pinball machine, if one is ever released.

I have made the crest shape, the exact same shape as the arcade cabinet.   That should do it, hmm?

Posted by: redketchup, July 17, 2010, 8:49pm; Reply: 35
prefere the first one!

But like the shape of the last one!
Posted by: Bish, July 17, 2010, 9:05pm; Reply: 36
For all you people who prefer the first Tron character, here's how it would look:

Posted by: Bish, July 17, 2010, 9:17pm; Reply: 37
Here are your choices:

a & b would be a round crest

c & d would be a Tron cabinet-shaped crest.

I'll make the one with the most votes.  In the event of a tie, I'll pick the one I like best (which is C).

If we go with D, I can make the fella a little bigger.  I just went with the same scale as the earlier one to slap a prototype together for all of you to gaze at in wonderment.  ;-)

We're close enough to the magic "50" number that I've sent the artwork into the embroidery company.

I can now accept payments.  Preorder cost is: $7.50 per crest + $1.44 shipping.

Paypal: iluvpinball@cogeco.ca  (Don't forget to include the 4% if you don't know the nifty trick that avoids me getting fees for your payment).

I asked the embroidery company to send me a sample...because (1)  We're working with "glow in the dark" thread, and (2)  I got a sense that they really didn't understand what I was telling them to do...

Here is the crest I got back from them:

(The white areas around the contour of the crest and in the spinner are glow in the dark areas).

Here are the changes I've asked to be made:

a)  Letters "TRON" to be completely outlined in glow in the dark thread.
b)  Tron figure to be outlined in glow in the dark thread.
c)  Tron figure's face to be better defined (it's just a blank area right now)
d)  Gradient in "TRON" lettering to be better defined with another shade of blue.

They will be sending me a second proof within the week, and then when I've consented to the proof, it will take 21 days + shipping to get it to me.

Sorry it's taken so long, but I wanted to make sure it was done properly.

It looks like it will be available for the November SB auction.
