Hey this is a general question.
How did you find out about our site? What do you like about it and what do you think we need to improve or add to it? 8)

That's real kewl considering I posted that ad only yesterday.

What do you mean by files?
Images, schematics, videos? Please be more specific.
Posted by: mindstorm88, September 18, 2004, 12:00am; Reply: 3
Files could be pdf of manuals, tips, bin files, things like that

Guys!!
This is a subject to be discussed at the upcoming meeting.
Posted by: Azatotht, September 18, 2004, 9:17am; Reply: 5
JD told me about it from day 1, i been exchanging messages with him for about  6 months before buying my first machine...

Files sections would be nice yeah, with pdf and stuff, just gotta make sure they are legal, as i think Gottlieb is not allowing their manuals to be online..

Its very nice to meet other people from Montreal (and anywhere else ), i sometimes feel like i am the only one to like pinball machines... trust me from all my friends i'm the only one, they keep laughing when i pronounce the name..
Posted by: 1 (Guest), September 18, 2004, 9:25am; Reply: 6
As far as manuals go! if there is a legal issue we can rewrite it in our words and change things here and there and they cannot do anything. If it is not their manual that is posted there is nothing they can do. All we have to make sure of is that we not committing any form of plagiarism.

The best would be to do like the Haynes Manuals for cars. And that is to create your own manuals based on a complete teardown and rebuild. I realize this is difficult since we do not have all the machines to do this with but in the end it would pay off because these documents can be published as well.

I found it after a lot of digging.

Started at arcadecontrols.com, was looking over some projects and found a one from a Canadian named Russ, he had a link to arcade4all.com.  After poking around there for a while I found the link to MAACA.

Finally! An active board with members within a 2 hour drive!

One of the administrators saw a pinball advertisement of mine on Mr. Pinball Classifieds and directed me to this site.  I believe it was either Sparky or JD3.  I'd like to thank the administrator responsible at this time.  Thanks, your site rocks!

I really get a kick out of some of the posts, while at other times I get necessary  information to fuel this hobby.

I was searching for Car Body shops, and Google asked me if I meant "Maaca" instead of "Maaco", so I decided to sell my car and play vids. I'm also on CGCC, which is the gateway drug to Maaca.

I have had it book marked for quite a while, But never really had a chance to poke around and see what was here. Seems like a pretty cool group. A bit of a scaled down Canadian version of RGP, and that is not a bad thing at all!

The fact that its ALSO a place to discuss and share everything pinball (and vid) - is a huge bonus! I am going to like it here!!  8)

Long story short, arcardes were the family business in the late 70s to the mid-80s and after having numerous games in the basement from the age of 5 onwards, I miss it. then the GF tells me I need a hobby since I seem.. bored.... woohooo!

I googled last night, "montreal arcade" and this site was the first hit.

My whole life I have been an arcade rat, trolling the arcades looking for a race in Daytona, a fight in Street Fighter or even a shoot out in Lethal Enforcer.   As time passed, a lot of the arcades I held dear started to disappear...... and before I knew it, I was better off just inviting friends over and playing on Mame dumps or the good ol systems.   But my lust to combat strangers, to leave my mark on a record board that could be challenged by the world (well the locals of that arcade...) push me to find every arcade in Montreal and see what is still beating.   I still went to my current stomping grounds at Amusement 2000 Plus downtown, but I wanted more.   So I found this place.

I dig my way up here throught the wonderful world wide web...  Or some call it GOD...  I mean Google...  I wan doing a research with the proper key word I guess If I discover this place...

Improvement:  Section/forum, FAQ with all the shop/store near MTL who can provide us with this fabulous world of gaming...

Also it can be useful to have a section with online store where we can buy replacement part for the games or helpful website concerning arcade...  Some sort of 'your favorites' in internet explorer...

Also a FAQ 'bible' with all the proper name for each part of an arcade/pin

Obviously I'm new to this...  And It's kind of pretty hard to have all the information at the same place...  It's always a hard time to get from a website collect a bit of information, get to another one collect more information, and on and on...  It's shouldn't be like a puzzle...  It's should be one place!  With all the knowledge this community can offer!

Also a section: Buy/sell

TIPS AND HOW TO section...

The problem is that if we create more and more categories, we would get lost in the info. As for links to online stores, you need permission to "officially" have a links section. Most stores have turned me down, probably thinking I wanted something in return... not at all in fact. So members post on certain stores.

As for a part name... I don't think you realize how many parts there are out there. Best thing is that if you are unsure, ask! No one here will laugh at someone who is starting out in the hobby, or merely needs info on a part.
