you might want to come out to the toronto pinball leauge on monday nights....

For less than $1k,  and "newer" you are looking at a working 90's SS machine, and likely a Gottlieb/Premier, and there are some good priced DMD (dot matrix display) in the Gottlieb System 3 family available now and a gain "mostly working".  

A better budget (IMHO) for something working, shopped and newer would be around $1200.  You'd have some choice then.

Miracles do happen though if you happen to beat one of us to a local KIJIJI sale!

It has been said many times before but get a fully working pin for your first pin, makes life more enjoyable. Then, even if you like the newer pins, consider one EM to fill out a collection. It gives a slightly different flavour. If you really want old school, go wood rail! Enjoy!

If I am back down in the toronto area then I will try to make it to the church. But I've played a gottlieb smb at the trailer park I have a trailer in and love it. Even if I got to buy a machine that needs a little work I am willing to do that too
