I was playing my TZ last night and light up LITZ.  I was half expecting my previous reset issue to rear its ugly head but it didn't happen.  Once LITZ was done the game only loaded 2 balls into the Gumball but there were only 3 balls left in the trough.  I gave the machine a little shake to see if it was magnetized and stuck to something metal, no ball I shook it a little more, than a lot more and no ball.  I opened up the game emptied the balls and only got 5 so I  lifted the playfield, no ball.  I fired up the game with the glass off and fired the ball into everything, Piano, Slot Machine, Gumball, Power, Camera, Hitchhiker, Spiral and no ball.  Is there something I am missing.  There is no ball in the bottom of the cabinet, no ball stuck in the ball passages that I can see.  Anybody know of this happening before?  (think)

Didn't you see the episode with the missing ball?
J/K

Did you look at all the corners you might have a hung up ball on a plastic etc.

Happened to me once. I agree w/ Lance. Check up top by the gumball machine. If I recall correctly, that's where the ball was hidden when it happened to me.

Under a plastic somewhere. When I first shoppedout BSD I found 3 extra balls trapped under the playfield plastics for who knows how long. I guess a previous owner had an unsolved mystery (or three)

Yes, happened to me last month....  Couldn't figure it out....  then all of the sudden - out of nowhere - the ball reapperaed and all is well.   I thought it was just a local event...  guess it's bigger then just me!

Glad to know I'm not totally insane.

Check under the right sign in front of the power pf. Mine will catch a ball there once and awhile between the Magna Flip sign and the jet bumper cap.

Damn and here I wished it had really vanished to add even more mystique to the game. It still isn't out of the question, I'm sure my TZ is possessed.

OK, I got one for ya......

After shopping my TZ, I kept/keep getting an opto error on my right magnet....  So here's what I did.

- Replaced both the optos (+/-) (tested 100% and OK)
- Traced the wire back to the opto board, (Tested OK)
- Found a problem with my connector, replaced the connector (Tested OK)
- Tested the OPTO board at a friends house (issues)
- Bought and installed a new OPTO board from Great Lakes (tested 100%)

played the game - everything worked 100%
after a few games, right magnet error again.

- Soldered the connector to be sure.

Played the game a few times.. everything worked.
after a few more games, right magnet error....

Anyone have any suggestions?  Thanks

Hahaha you may have a Mystery after all Necro.  Since I found a missing ball behind the Magna Flip sign and that makes 6 balls then where did this come from???

Well at least no one can accuse you of not having a lot of balls.

Well after a teardown, my BSD had a total of 6 balls in it (supposed to have 3). I guess thats proof the machine had never previously received a shop job. As if the mummified rubber wasnt evidence enough!
