Never heard of that brand before.

If you're seriously considering upgrading, stick with Hako, Weller or Metcal.  When it comes to soldering stations and DMM's, you get what you pay for.  (I've been using Hako for over 15 years and can't complain)

Cooke linked us to this soldering station when it was 50% off: http://www.mcmelectronics.com/product/TENMA-21-7940-/21-7940

It has been great. I guess you have to sign up for the newsletter to be informed on the sales though.

That looks like a knockoff of the Weller I have. Likely made in the same plant in China with a slightly different case on it.

I highly recommend a soldering station with a desoldering head and vacuum pump for board work.

I've gotten really spoiled working with one of these, but I have seen reasonably priced units with just solder/desolder conductive soldering heads and a pump. Convective isn't required unless your doing surface work.
