I was wondering if anyone else here plays the Xbox 360 Arcade game Pinball FX by Zen Studios.

Technically, the graphics and sounds are amazing. If your only experience with video pinball are Pinball for the NES, or even Virtual Pinball for the PC, you're missing out.

It's only ~$10, and comes with 3 tables, and they vary in quality. A new pirate themed table was just released for free yesterday too. I found it pretty fun, if not a bit too easy (extra balls are very common).

I was wondering what your opinions were of the tables and the game itself. I like the first table, that's in the demo the most.

The physics are also decent, but the ball seems to spin a lot, but I don't have as much experience as you guys to know what normal pinball physics should look like.

Here's a review: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i-fkOb1RF9Y

In my opinion, if you have a 360, and like pinball (why are you here?), then you should own this game. We can even do online multiplayer

Edit: Lol, I didn't realize that review would be so negative! Oh well, to each his own.

Holy crap, you're right! Are any of the other tables ripoffs?

At first I didn't like that table, but it's been growing on me.

Really cuts down on the need for Novus.

I like it, when it was initially released I think I spent the first week ranked in the top 100 for "agents".  This is no Pro-Pinball recreation but its 4 tables (including the free download) is a great deal!  The physics aren't perfect but are servicable, it's flashy and fun to play.  I hope more tables get released, it's nice to have a bit of variety.

I just realized that the table 'speed machine' is awfully familiar to Williams' Whitewater, but reversed. Similar to how Xtreme is a copy of BK2000 reversed.
Do  you guys see it? The thing that tipped me off is the mini-playfield at the top with the 2 ramps, and the location of the bumpers on the side. The tables are almost exactly the same!

Speed Machine:

i used to own a wh2o and never caught that. good eye!

wh2o is about 10000 times harder. getting the ball to sink seems to be the challenge for speed machine.

Hopefully this weekend I'll own my first pin, a WH2O. Hopefully I won't be bored of it right away thanks to Pinball FX.
The more I look at the 2, the more similarities pop out. Notice the targets on the right in WH2O, there's 1 on its own, then 2, then a set of 3. The same is on speed machine. Wow, it's almost a 100% ripoff. At least they changed the rules (then again, I don't know WH2O's rules too well).

I wonder what Agents and Buccaneers rip off?

Come on MAACA people, it's quiz time!

Actually, from a partial pic of the playfield i saw in an article, there is one with a chopper in the middle that looks like ST:TNG reversed...

Agents:

ST:TNG :

Notice the three targets above each flipper. The rest is more difficult to make out. I've never played ST:TNG, so if anyone can confirm, please chime in. To me it looks like Azatotht is right!

Now... Buccaneers! (I can't find a simple image!)

Edit: Here's the best I could find:

I know it sucks.

Some features of note: The little flipper on the left just above the lanes. Four bumpers on the left. A flipper on the top right, aimed at a couple ramps (the two skulls) and a hole (between the ramps).

Is it possible that this is their first non-ripoff table?
