whatever you do  don't buy couches with recliners on the end seats,  they tend to have a terrible feeling when you lie down across them.

Wouldnt' that be the whole point of buying a couch with end recliners...so you can lay on them...not across them?  Love my leather one. Mike

OY!!!!!!

YES!

THe ex and i bought a pricey Lazy-boy sofa with dual recliners and a drop down center section (for popcorn)  they are excellent recliners, though NOT cheap...
BUT

Laying on the sofa, would DESTROY your back!!!  the times i didn't want to recline, just lay down and watch a movie, after 20 minutes i could barely get up... they are HORRIBLE to lay on!

we tried to sell it once we got the new house (new sectional sofa instead of the lay-z boy) and nobody wanted it, even for a hundred bucks.  it sat in the basement, but i did't like it in my hoe theater, since it was so uncomfortable.... ended up giving it away to family who needed a sofa for a kids play room.

NO recliner sofa NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Really?  We bought a sectional with 2 recliners 8 years ago, and it's great.  It's a bit of a pain in the a** to move, and I actually had to cut part of it in half to get it in my basement last time, but its served us well.  We actually converted it a while back as well to leave the center piece (one recliner) on its own, and put the other 2 sections (one recliner and a pullout bed) together to make one five seat wide mega-couch.  No problems stretching out on that thing

The other one we bought for upstairs was actually from Ikea, and it's surprisingly comfortable.  You also buy the couch as a blank, and get a cover separate, so you can just wash the entire thing if you want.  Useful if you have people who tend to spill things on the furniture.
